I made this pillow 3 years ago for my (then) 6 year old son. He was Minecraft and DAN TDM mad at the time and I had just learnt how to make Granny squares. My son (now 9) has now moved onto Fortnite and other such games but he still has this pillow on his bed and loves it.
The pattern itself is super easy, as its all granny squares sewn together. The longest part is sewing them all together in the right order and sewing in all the ends.
The pillow is approx 19 1/2 inches wide and tall and is made up of 64 squares at the front and 4 large squares at the back.
Pattern:
4mm Crochet Hook
DK wool – Brown, black, blue, light blue, dark blue, white and beige (skin tone colour-I used stylecraft stone for this )
20 x 20 inch pillow insert
Make 64 squares for the front, you will need the following amounts for each colour:
6 Brown
20 Black
4 Blue
2 Light blue
2 Dark blue
6 White
24 Beige
Granny Square pattern
1) CH 4, SL ST to start to form a ring, CH 5
2) 3DC in the ring *CH2, 3DC* into ring, repeat * to * once more , CH2, 2DC, SL ST to the ch5 start.
3) CH5, 2DC in corner space, *3DC across, 2DC in corner space, CH2, 2DC in the same corner space* . repeat * to * 2 more times, 3DC, 1DC in the first corner space again, SL ST to the CH5 start.
4) CH5, 2DC in corner space, *6DC across, 2DC in corner space, CH2, 2DC in the same corner space* . repeat * to * 2 more times, 6DC, 1DC in the first corner space again, SL ST to the CH5 start.
F/O leaving a long tail for sewing.
I only did these rows for my granny squares, but you can make them larger or smaller by adding or taking away rows. When adding rows, follow instructions above with *2DC, CH2, 2DC* in each corner and DC along each side with however many stitches there is (for example- the next row would be 9DC across)
Once you have done all the squares for the front, Sew them together (or if you prefer crocheting them together then do this) so they make the Minecraft/Dan Tdm face as shown below and then sew in all ends:

To make the back of the pillow, make 4 large granny squares- 2 in Dark Brown and 2 in Beige. Follow the granny square pattern but make 13 rows (not including the first row in pattern where you make the ring). Sew (or crochet) the 2 dark brown squares at the top and the 2 beige ones underneath and sew in any ends)
Place the front and back peices of the pillow together and sew (or crochet) 3 sides of them together. Insert the cushion insert before sewing up the last side. Sew in any left over ends and your Minecraft/Dan Tdm pillow is complete. 🙂
