This is my most favourite blanket I ever made. I had not long started crocheting and had just discovered how to make granny squares, when I came across a photo of one somebody else had done. It took me nearly a whole year, inbetween other projects, to get this finished. I had decided I was going to make and give it to my eldest teenage nephew for Christmas, 3 days before Christmas, my boyfriend and I were sitting up late trying to sew in all the loose ends, we honestly didn’t think we were going to finish it in time haha. But we did and it ended up being between Double and Kingsized.
I can’ remember exactly how many granny squares it took to finish it but it was a good few hundred. I have never made another character blanket using granny squares since but hopefully one day I will again as they are so amazing when finished.
